Twenty years. Two decades. A fifth of a century. Seems like a long time. To a 45-year-old with 20 years at the same job and twenty more to go, it is. To a 50-year-old with three children over twenty, it is. To a 60-year-old 80 sounds so far away. So then, why is it that a 20-year-old doesn’t have the experience or the knowledge necessary to be taken seriously in our country? I may only have 20 years under my belt, but by listening to the policy ideas coming out of Washington it seems plain to me that I know far more about our country, its founders, and the principles upon which this country was founded then damn near every man and woman in Washington. At the very least, I can say that even if members of Congress and other politicians are aware of the same things that I am, they are either afraid to defend the ideals of our founders, or they don’t care about the fundamental beliefs that this nation was founded on. And if the latter is true, then our country is headed for dark times, and my gut tells me that is exactly what we’re in for.
America is based on freedom, equality, hard work, and the ability of people to shape their own futures. Yet at every turn the government seems to want to throw those principles out the window and instill upon America new values and new foundations none of which were ever intended by our founding fathers. For twenty years I’ve watched my America become corrupted, defiled, and lost. Men and women have fought and died to protect America and the beliefs upon which she was founded, and it’s high time we stood up for them to put an end to the idiocracy and stupidity brewing in Washington.
The liberals in D.C. have control of the White House as well as Congress now. I tell you my friends it truly scares me to my very soul when I think of the crippling damage that will potentially come out of Washington in the coming years. Their “let everyone have and do whatever they desire” philosophy has begun its infiltration of our society, and it will not stop unless we come together and take action. I know I’m not the only young conservative still standing in this world, so I’m calling on all of you out there who feel the way I feel, think the way I think, and love this country as much as I do. We cannot stand idly by and watch the beliefs of our founding fathers be disrespected, dishonored, and dismissed. This is our country, and it’s time we took it back.
My name is Daniel Ray Smith, and I am one of many. I am a staunch Reagan conservative. I believe in small government, low taxes, freedom, and working hard to achieve your goals. Like you, I am sick and tired of the liberals decimating our Constitution and our country. Like you, I am furious with the repeated failures of or government and its inability to learn from its mistakes. Like you, I am fed up with the partisanship in Washington and in the media. And like you, I know that it is time that we take matters into our own hands. The Republicans are losing their way and now more than ever we need a strong conservative leader in America. It doesn’t have to be a “politician”. In fact quite the opposite, we need someone that knows politics but will not succumb to the poison that is Washington. We need someone that will rally the conservatives and push our nation back onto the RIGHT track. I may only be twenty years old, but I believe that I can be that man. I can fight this battle and win back America for the men women and children that do their part to keep it the greatest nation on earth. I can show the world that America has not been and will never be lost to the evil that would come from giving in to the liberal agenda. And above all I can show America that we are still one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. I subscribe to the ideals of our founding fathers and I know there are many more of you out there who do the same. No one could ever do this alone, and so I am enlisting the help of each and every one of you. If you are tired of our government destroying everything it touches and if you believe in the principles of President Reagan and our founding fathers, then stand with me and help bring America back. It’s going to take each and every one of us. We can do this together. So if you’re out there, please stand with me and help take back the America we all know and love. For as the Constitution says:
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security…”
