You know, I can't even begin to describe the amount of ignorance and pure stupidity it takes to get into a situation like this. I'm referring of course to yesterday's Air Force One "photo-op" that sent thousands of New Yorkers running in terror. Who in their right mind would allow something like this to take place? There's a lot of finger pointing going on already. Mayor Bloomberg insists he had no knowledge of the flyby, but of course White House officials claim they notified his office and he somehow didn't get the message. Obama claims to have had no prior knowledge that this was going to happen, saying that he found out when the rest of us did. Look, any idiot would realize that doing this without informing the public would have horrible results. So first of all, whoever came up with the idea would have to have informed the president. How do you send out Air Force One's backup without letting the president know. So either he knew, or they didn't tell him because they anticipated the results and wanted him to have plausible deniability. Either way they screwed up, and Obama needs to take responsibility for the idiots working for him. Now, as I said it was stupid not to make sure Mayor Bloomberg and the citizens of New York were aware of the flyby. So, if someone had contacted Bloomberg's office they should have made damn sure that he got the message. As a matter of fact the person at the head of this decision should have personally contacted Bloomberg to be absolutely sure he was up to speed. Too many mistakes were made and from my chair I'm not seeing enough outrage about it. Hell I had to check three different news sites before I found an actual article about it. Anyone wanna guess where I found it. That's right, Fox News. The New York Times didn't have anything on their home page and neither did the Washington Post. Everyone is talking about Specter's defection instead-as far as I'm concerned the man was a RINO anyway so I'm not surprised at it whatsoever and that's all I'm gonna say about that. Back to the "flub-by". This was a stupid idea that spent more money we don't have on a project that does nothing but make the Obama administration look like they want to change the way we think about the president. They wanted pictures of Air Force One with the Statue of Liberty in the background, and there was another photo-op scheduled for D.C. next week. I may be a single voice in this blogosphere, but to me that sounds like the makings of political propaganda.
"Look everyone, the president's plane looks so good with the pretty patriotic background and the special colors, etc." So we already have the media refusing to report badly on the president, those who do so are being reprimanded, those of us invoking our constitutional right to protest are being referred to with distasteful sexual innuendos, and now they're gearing up for the Obama billboards, banners, and flags that will consume the nation. Now look, I'm exaggerating here, but I want you to be aware that while the possibility of a fascist/socialistic takeover is somewhat far fetched, with all that Obama has done in his first 100 days- from nationalizing the banks to tripling the debt to making nice with Cuba and Venezuela- it is far from impossible that such a takeover can happen. My purpose is not to instill fear, that's an Obama tactic and I refuse to resort to it. My goal is to get people to see things for what they really are. It's not my job to tell you what to think, but to show you that when you think about these things for yourself they are not innocuous gestures, as Obama would have you believe. Make no mistake, our country is headed down a dangerous path. It's up to us to stop it. Only the People can make things right. Only the People can hold the government accountable. And only the People can protect America ideals from extinction.
