Obamacare: Congress Gets A Choice, But The People Paying For Their Benefits Don't

Congress keeps telling us there is nothing wrong with federal employees (like them and their staffs) being able to keep their employer provided healthcare under Obamacare. Dick Durbin claimed that all they’re doing is keeping their employer provided health benefits, and to deny them that right somehow goes against what Republicans like Ted Cruz claim to be fighting for. I call bull, Dick. No American citizen has been given a choice between keeping their benefits and being forced onto the Obamacare exchanges. Your law has forced employers up against a wall, and hundreds have been forced to cut hours, cur benefits or stop offering them all together. In ALL of these cases, one thing has been consistent: employees do not get to sit at the table and cast a vote, or even declare an opinion on the matter. The decision are being left in the hands of the employers, the people who HAVE TO PAY, not only for the benefits themselves, but also for all of the fees and taxes to become Obamacare compliant (or in some cases the penalties that are cheaper to pay than continue with the now MORE expensive premiums). We can have the debate about who should get to make those decisions another time. Right now, the focus should be on this point: Congress has lied and deceived the American people about the President’s precious hallmark legislation. They know it’s a bad law and either WANT it to collapse the system, or are just too stupidly obedient to the Democratic establishment to do anything about it. So while they ram this train wreck down the throats of American taxpayers, raising premiums for individuals and families across the board, they are simultaneously forcing us to keep subsidizing their health insurance premiums. That’s the very definition of corruption folks.

The Democrats in Congress, along with the President, his staff and every federal employee are pulling the wool over the eyes of the American people. The fact that they are refusing to give up their benefits and go onto the Obamacare exchanges tells you all you need to know about the law itself, as well as the character of those in Washington who refuse to participate. Congress needs to have their feet held to the fire on this folks. Not because I’m a Conservative that knows Obamacare is going to destroy our health insurance system, but because Congress and the White House are deliberately forcing American into a system they clearly know will harm them, and at the same time they’re giving themselves an exemption, so that they can keep the MUCH BETTER plans they currently enjoy. THEY got to choose to force US, their employers, to keep paying for their health insurance. You and I don't get to force anyone to cover us do we? We aren't in control of the money purse that provides our health insurance, are we? The answer is no. But Congress gets to decide what benefits they get, AND they get to tell us that we have to pay for it, AND they get to write, sign and cash the check. If you really want to defend this kind of corruption, you possess a blind devotion that I will never be able to fathom. For Congress to make the argument that they've done nothing inconsistent or unfair with regard to opting out of Obamacare is just plain wrong. We the people should get a vote on whether Congress keeps their plan, because after all WE ARE PAYING FOR IT. I say add this amendment to the law:

“All federal employees, Including but not limited to The President, Congress, The Courts, all staff members and political appointees, will be subject to the rules and regulations of the Affordable Care Act in the same manner as are the citizens of the United States, and will not be subsidized to any extent by their employer, the American People. Only with a vote of ¾ of the American people will federal employees be able to keep their current benefits, and not be required to participate in the health insurance exchanges set up under the Affordable Care Act. Without a ¾ vote of the American people, all federal employees must enter into the health insurance exchanges as set up by the Affordable Care Act, and must pay all taxes and fees as required by the Affordable Care Act.”

If Congress and the rest of the Administration are so confident in the “wonderful” system they’ve concocted and shoved down our throats, then they should have no problem at all with allowing WE THE PEOPLE to decide whether they keep their current benefits or go on to the exchanges as so many Americans are being forced to do. The choice to pay should be given to those who are paying. Congress should not be able to choose their plan and force us to pay for it. That is not democracy. That is not negotiation. That is not Liberty. It is outright theft and tyranny in its purest form. I refuse to sit silently and let it happen like so many GOP and DNC morons. I stand with people like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul and others who have been direct and steadfast in their opposition to the tyrannical monstrosity that is Obamacare. If you believe, as I do, that it is immoral and corrupt for Congress and the Obama administration to force us to subsidize their health insurance while so many Americans are losing their employer provided benefits because of a law that Congress and Obama rammed through WITHOUT the support of the American people, then please pass this on, and let everyone you know in on it. Congress and the White House acted through executive action to opt out of Obamacare, and then lied to us about the injustice of that action. They want to have their cake and eat it too, while we are left helpless, without the ability to decide where our money goes or what it gets spent on.

Congress and the Obama administration need to give Americans a choice on whether our so-called leaders keep their health plans or go onto the exchanges like so many citizens are being forced to. Demand it, and DO NOT GIVE IN.
